Every year the Australian Dental Association (ADA) celebrates Dental Health Week. Between the 5th and the 11th of August the ADA is promoting oral health with the aim of educating Australians about the importance of maintaining good oral health.
Tooth decay is the most common chronic disease in Australia with 90 percent of Australians having experienced decay in their permanent teeth.
To maintain healthy teeth and gums remember to:
Brush your teeth twice a day with a fluoridated toothpaste
Use floss or an interdental brush daily to clean in-between your teeth
Eat a balanced, healthy diet and limit your sugar intake
Visit the dentist regularly for check-ups to prevent treatment
