The preferred form of Orthodontic treatment for teenagers and for some adults is Braces.

These can be the conventional braces or “clear/invisible“ braces where the front brackets are ceramic and almost invisible.

What is the right age for a first visit to an orthodontist?

Although full treatment of braces for children doesn’t usually start until 11-13 years old, we recommend an initial consultation for kids at 8-9 years old so that we are sure to identify the small percentage of patients requiring early intervention.

Do I need a referral?

No referral is required to attend, and there is no difference in health care rebates if you do/don’t have a referral from a general dentist. However, Dr Lipshatz, likes to communicate with your family dentist and keep them informed throughout treatment.

How long does orthodontic treatment take?

The average time for full braces treatment is two years, and this obviously varies, but the constant is a gorgeous smile as an end result.
